Scimitar announce debut LP ‘Errare’ to be released on April 25th, 2026 via Cigarettes & Alcohol RPM on vinyl, cassette and digital.
‘Errare’ is the debut album from Scimitar. Literally ‘to err’ in Latin, the phrase comes from the proverb “Errare Humanum Este” or “too make errors is human." The theme of the album is judgment and begs the question “Who here is without sin? Who shall cast the first stone?” Certainly stones are cast - at would-be lovers, politicians and consumer society alike but likewise taking a pause from moralizing to embrace the more sensuous pleasures of life. The songwriting runs the gamut of post-punk's diverse lineage from deathrock roots to modern synthpop, leaving no territory unturned.
